Tour the RITF
The RITF is a critical support facility at the NASA Johnson Space Center in the Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate. Operated for NASA by SAIC, the RITF provides testing, evaluation services, and training to the aerospace community with an AS9100- registered laboratory and ISO/IEC17025 accreditation.
The RITF has a wide range of testing, analysis, and training capabilities serving JSC and JSC contractors. The laboratory is registered by National Quality Assurance (NQA) to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) AS9100, Aerospace Standard, and is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to ISO/ IEC 17025 standard, general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
The facility specializes in failure analysis, electronic component screening, and materials testing. Other services provided include "hands-on" training to NASA/contractor engineers, technicians, and inspectors in the areas of electrostatic discharge (ESD), solder, surface mount technology (SMT), crimping, conformal coating, and fi ber-optic terminations.
